Marvel's Wolverine Estimated at 1.9 Million Sales in Three Days
Analysts at Alinea estimate Insomniac's Marvel's Wolverine earned about $130 million and sold roughly 1.9 million copies in its first three days on PS5.

Insomniac Games' Marvel's Wolverine sold an estimated 1.9 million copies in its first three days, according to market research firm Alinea Analytics. The PS5 exclusive launched on 15 September 2026, and Kotaku reported the estimate on 18 September.
Alinea puts the game's three-day revenue at around $130 million. Rhys Elliott, Alinea's head of market research, said that already makes it "the #6 top-grossing PS5 game of the year".
Kotaku shared Alinea's comparison figures, which put Wolverine's revenue ahead of several other major PlayStation titles:
| Game | Estimated revenue |
|---|---|
| Marvel's Wolverine | about $130M |
| Ghost of Yotei | $121.9M |
| Death Stranding 2 | $51.7M |
| Astro Bot | $34.6M |
The strong start came despite a mixed critical reception. Kotaku noted a weak Metacritic aggregate and online debate over the game's quick-time events. These are third-party estimates; Sony has not published official sales figures.
Why it matters
Wolverine shows that a big licensed character and a trusted studio can still drive huge launch sales even when reviews are lukewarm. For developers, it is a reminder that brand recognition and marketing often matter as much as review scores in the first week.
