Ubisoft Delays Rayman Legends Retold to 3 December Despite Going Gold
Ubisoft has pushed Rayman Legends Retold from 1 October to 3 December 2026, saying it wants more time to polish the game even though it has gone gold.

Ubisoft has delayed Rayman Legends Retold by two months, moving it from 1 October to 3 December 2026. The delay was reported by Kotaku on 14 September.
The decision is unusual because the game had already gone gold, meaning the launch version was considered finished. The team said it chose to take extra time to make sure every detail gets proper care, rather than ship on the original date.
According to Kotaku:
- Rayman Legends Retold is built on Ubisoft's Snowdrop engine
- It was Ubisoft's only major new release planned for autumn 2026, apart from Just Dance: Decades of Hits
- The delay follows earlier postponements across Ubisoft's line-up, including Assassin's Creed Shadows
The new December date places the platformer in the busy holiday window, a few weeks after other major autumn launches.
Why it matters
Delaying a game that has already gone gold is rare, and suggests Ubisoft would rather spend more on polish than risk a weak launch for a well-loved series. For developers, it is a reminder that a release date can still move late in the process, and that a short delay is often cheaper than a poor first impression.
