State of Play: Until Dawn 2, Metro 2039 and FF7 Revelation Dated
Sony's hour-long September State of Play dated Until Dawn 2, Metro 2039 and Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, and shared new Ghost of Yotei and Wolverine news.

Sony held a PlayStation State of Play on 3 September 2026, running for roughly an hour. The show set release dates for Until Dawn 2, Metro 2039 and Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, and gave fresh updates on several big PS5 titles.
Key dates from the broadcast, according to Dexerto's round-up:
- Marvel's Wolverine: 15 September 2026, PS5 exclusive
- Ghost of Yotei expansion content: 1 October 2026, PS5
- Crimson Desert: Charting the Unknown: 15 October 2026, PS5
- Final Fantasy Resonance: 22 October 2026, PS5
- Until Dawn 2: 28 January 2027, PS5
- Metro 2039: 4 February 2027, PS5
- Gundam Rogue Orbit: 5 March 2027, PS5
- Final Fantasy 7 Revelation: 8 April 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and PC
Capcom also showed Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, due in 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Man Eater 2 was confirmed for PS5 in 2027, while smaller titles such as Uncanyon and Rev. NOiR were given 2027 windows.
Why it matters
Final Fantasy 7 Revelation launching on four platforms at once is another sign that big publishers are moving away from timed exclusives. Most of the dated games land in early 2027, which leaves the October to December window a little less crowded around the year's biggest releases.
